Lead me in the RIGHT direction please!

Okay I bought my first diesel 2 months ago. It's a 1 owner bone stock except egr delete 04 6.0. It has about 150K. I changed fuel filters when I bought it but not due for oil yet. Nights started getting cold about 2 weeks ago here in tn..around 20-30. I noticed the cold rough start but smooths our in less than 30 seconds. Nothing bad driving around town. Power still there. Took it on a little trip to Cades Cove and noticed a slight miss/bump/hesitation when steady about 65-75. I noticed it but my wife didn't..so not horrible. What can I do short of Rev-X at $75 a bottle to keep this straight? Advice needed! Seafoam in filter under hood? Diesel kleen? Mystery Oil? ATF?? Lucus??? Lighter oil?? A TON of options. Someone shoot me some feasible working advice please!

I would change the oil and filter make sure you use a motorcraft filter and have a motorcraft filter cap. Use shell rotella 5w40 it will help with cold starts. Get a gauge to monitor live data though the obdii port such as a scangauge II. Read though the tech folder in the 6.0 section Also make sure to wait for the glow plug light to go out before starting. What kind of fuel filers did you use when you changed them? OEM filters are very important for the 6.0. If you do this you should have a good base for figuring out problems seeing the live data is crucial.

Almost sounds like a ficm to me. Mine was doing something similar on startup. It's pretty easy to check. I actually tried the Rev-X when mine started acting up. It did not fix the problem. This may or may not be your issue but it's something to check.

^^^^^ beat me to it.
I think checking the FICM voltage is in order.

If you look in the Tech Folder you will find a lot of FICM info.
If it is going south then FICM Repair.com - Your Source for FICM Repair
is a good answer.

X2 on the 5W-40, it is a good year round oil and your injectors will thank you for it and X2 on getting some gauges to keep and eye on things.

Actually, you first course of action is pretty simple and less than $160 too.
You need a ODB gauge display device.
This is NOT just a "scan tool" because they let you read sensor values vs. 'codes'

Scangauge2 is popular ($140-160), and also the apps for smartphones too (with a bluetooth ODB2 adapter) - which are even cheaper..

These devices let you MONITOR tons of computer sensor values and is essential to helping you (and us) troubleshoot problems.

It will let you SEE the 3 voltage readings that determine FICM health.
It will let you SEE the Coolant vs. Oil temp difference to determine OIL Cooler health.
It will let you SEE injector control pressure and help troubleshoot hard warm-start conditions.

Try Hot Shots Secret or Archoil 9100 ( I have better luck with Archoil 9100, and it's cheaper) with fresh Synthetic 5-40. And definatly get something like a ScanGauge 2 and check your FICM voltage.
