whats everybodys opinion on the scan gauge 2 ive been looking at the rectangular one to mount in an ovehead consle just as an extra moniter
and any vendors on here sell it ? thanks for any info

 

Won't communicate with our trucks. You'll get speed and RPM, that's it. Someone clever enough to know the internal codes associated with scanning our PCMs, and with reading live data and doing the various tests, could _probably_ write a set of XGauge sequences to make it work. To date, no one has.

 

reaally ? that sucks!! i had read somewhere there were code to make it work guess ill have to look into some more

 

I called scangauge and they told me that it is not compatible with the 94.5-97 PSD

how many parameters do you get with the EDGE CTS and how accurate are they? im looking to by a 97 probably Monday that has glowshift gauges for EGT, Boost, and Trans temp but that's it, and i don't want a bunch of analog gauges strung out everywhere but i also don't want to spend 400 bucks on a monitor only to have it be as useful as the idiot gauges in the factory cluster.

 

I use a scan gauge 2 on my 95 psd, just enter in the x-gauge codes listed on their website for the 7.3. It pulls live data just fine, HPOP psi, IPR, injector pulse width, exhaust back pressure, boost, EOT, Baro, Mass fuel Desired, Glow plug percent(reads 99% when on). But it doesnt read codes or do any bidirectional controls unfortunately.
