freeze/core plug advice

Just about to get my 7.3 back from machine shop and looking for freeze plugs it looks like people are saying you need a special tool to install the factory SS plugs. Also that it would be a mistake to use brass plugs or anything other than the factory stainless ones.
Anyone have any experience with these?

I'd use the stainless, but have no first hand experience with either in these motors. Just what I'd do.

X2 on the stainless. But I also have no experience with the brass ones either. As for a special tool, why not a large deep well socket?
