I'm in the process of getting some gauges installed, and I was going to try to compare the EOT and Transmission Temp gauge with the numbers seen by the factory gauges.
I have an ACTRON Auto Scanner Plus CP9180, which will show live data, atleast on other vehicles. When I plugged it in and viewed the live data, only 4 PIDs showed up: MIL Status, ENGINE SPEED RPM, MAP KPA, and VEHICLE SPEED MPH. I know there should be more PIDs available at the OBDII Port, because i've seen everyone talking about the digital gauges that plug in there. And I know my scanner is capable or reading PIDs, because i've read them live on other vehicles (always gassers though).
Basically all the scanner wants to do on my truck is read and clear codes. So does this sound like the scanner isn't capable of reading more PIDs for this vehicle than the ones shown, or is there a possible issue with the truck not wanting to release that data? I was thinking about an SG2, but if the data isn't available then it won't do any good.
