Lower intake manifold stud size for the 4.9L 300?

I had a buddy ask me if I could find out what size the intake manifold bolts were. We are going to use studs instead (what length?) How many studs does he need? I haven't seen the ride yet.

Thanks.

Hi 5.0stang. Which studs are you talking about? The intake/exhaust on the 4.9 weaves together, and the bolts for the intake/exhaust, upper/lower, etc. all combine.

This goes for both carb'd and EFI (you didn't specify which you were working on).

As for what size they are, I think someone posted it in the tips and tricks in the sticky at the top of the page, but if not, just take one of the bolts you remove and go down and match it.
I believe the studs on mine are 2".

On EFI, there are 16 bolt holes.
On carb, there are 13 (unless you have one of the rare carb heads that was drilled for 16 right before the switch to EFI).
