Hard start, rough/slow running, slow acceleration

Thank you for all good advice.
Problem is solved.
First it was the burnt pig tail.
Then the startermotor burned.
Then it wouldn't turn over fast enough, all grounds and connectors cleaned.
Then it wouldn't start because of some stupid underdash kill switch, I hit with my knee.
And now the final problem, IDM full of water.
Replaced that with the one from my own Van, and it runs great.
A new IDM is on order
Can the old one be repaired?

**SOME** fellas have gotten lucky, dried out the IDM and restored functionality. If you do get it to work, I'd consider it a spare.
IDM is interchangeable across models/years, van/truck, '94.5-'03. Should be able to find a working used one from a part-out for $100-ish. Edit - oh wait, just noticed your location. Not exactly a slew of these trucks being parted out on nearby craigslists in your neck of the woods, I guess. Well, new or used, I imagine shipping's gonna hurt.
A skeptic would look at your list and think a truck like that is a piece of junk, just riddled with problems. But in fact, that list only proves just how the truck can tolerate so many looming faults and still run. It was only when they all "ganged" up together that you were able to diagnose and treat them.

I will try to dry it out.
Noticed that the one from my van had a ground wire mounted on the bottom side, and the wire was bolted to a ground point near the headlamps.
It also had a small hole next to the ground wire, like a drain hole.
Maybe someone has dried out mine some time ago too.
There are a few of these at the breakers over here in Norway, but it's hard to get only the IDM and not purchase a complete engine.
"Madpogue" that's why my friend got the van really cheap
But he can't fix it himself, so he drops them off in my yard.
With the help from this forum, I can fix anything
Nearest garage to fix these Fords are 2.5 hours drive from here, and they only care about european fords.
