55 Ford C600 COE VIN number help please

Hello, can anyone shed some light on the possible alternate location of my VIN number. I need to match the vehicle to the title. The glove box tag is damaged. Thank You

On the pickups I have found them on the front cross member at one side or the other........kinda next to the radiator. Might check there.....COE might be different though.

Most trucks have the vin stamped on the top of the passenger frame rail, ahead of the cab mount.
Some trucks were not stamped at all

My 54 is stamped near the passenger side Front Crossmember. I was looking for my VIN on my 56 Panel in the same location and figured it wasn't stamped but when cleaning the frame it was stamped in front of the front cab mount passenger side. Both were, as posted above, on the top of the frame rail.

Also, as posted else where on FTE, the true VIN is the one on the frame rail NOT the glove box plate. You can get the plate reproduced by several vendors.

Thanks for the great reply info. I will again focus in those areas mentioned. Can you list a vendor that reproduces those glove box plates.

Note that you MUST have a valid title in your name for that VIN before they will make a plate for you.

Good point. I do have the title.
The reason the data plate replacement will help is US customs needs to verify the title to the vehicle in order to stamp it for export. (Truck in US, I am in Alberta). The alternative is trying to locate the VIN on the frame which is possibly an exercise in frustration.

You still want to find the VIN on the frame. They may want to look at that as well.
