Stock or Diesel Site HPOP?

Looking like i need to replace my HPOP soon, was just wanting to get some thoughts. I have stock injectors/turbo, and never plan on changing from that (A powermax if my turbo ever goes but thats it).

Looking like $532 for a Motorcraft HPOP from tousley ford, or $1000 for a diesel site stock volume HPOP. Is twice the price really worth it for a truck thats going to have stock injectors all its life? Are the new Motorcraft 03 HPOPs upgraded from the older ones? Ive heard 03s have weaker HPOPs

Thanks

It's not that they're weaker, just less reliable although I know folks with a lot of miles on their stock HPOP's. I don't know if the newer motorcraft pumps have been upgraded or not, but I would doubt it. AFA a new motorcraft pump, you can get a bad one out of the box from Ford and it's not that uncommon. Another thing to consider is if you're doing the job yourself vs. having to pay to have it done.

My hpop went out, and my shop got a new (reman) one. It was junk right out of the box. Didn't work at all, so I got pretty bent out of shape and splurged for the adrenaline hpop from dieselsite, so far so good, I've only put about 300 miles on it though. I wish I had upgraded from the start, I hate remanufactured parts.

Im paying to have it done, so if a pump happens to be bad out of the box its not my problem. My mechanic primarily works on 6.0s, and loves 6.0s (owns 3) and said for my needs i dont need to spend the money on a diesel site hpop

you can get bad ford remans and you can get bad aftermarket remans right out of the box.

I would highly recommend he diesel site pump. All of the reading I've done indicates its not only a great upgrade but also good for a reliability standpoint.

Yeah but for twice the price? Not so inclined to pay $1000 for it

It didn't fail, I just want to have it done before it fails so I don't get stranded somewhere with winter coming up. Still gonna have it hooked up to IDS to confirm

You can just Tap and Plug the BB

That alone may give it a 50% Better chance

The BB style port in the factory housings is done away with in the upgraded billet housing of the adrenaline pump. Plus the internals are upgraded, more billet goodies inside, I'm not sure what all is different, but it is rated for 190cc injectors, which the salesman at dieselsite told me that was on the modest side.
