2005 6.0 glow plug problem

Not a whole lot of help but the glow plug control module is on the passenger side valve cover just behind/ below the alternator. It has two plugs one black and one green. Wish I had a print for you but you should find power to it in there somewhere and power out for each plug for a minute or so after key on. I couldn't find a fuse so it likely has a fusible link on a big fat wire somewhere. The module it's self could also be the problem. All 8 plugs failing at the same time isn't likely.

Probably glow plug relays are melted. It's quite common to have to do both sides GP relays when replacing GPs. You can try the relays first, but chances are depending on mileage, you need both relays and 8 new Hot Sticks. Tech manual shows how to do them, you have to pull the inner fenders to get in there. You are going to have some serios bonding time with the 6 oh.

The 6.0 does not use a relay is electronic and reports status back to the
ECM so it can let you know what the problem is. I have a post I did with
a break down of the wiring.
You can find it here

Here is the stuff I found when I did that post.

All this information comes from the 2006 Service Manual.
Glow plug on time is dependent on oil temperature and altitude. The GPCM will
command the glow plugs on for 1 to 120 seconds. The GPCM does not operate
if the oil temperature is above 55C (131F)
It looks like the GPCM is really 2 units in one box.
Glow plug to ground 0.1~2 Ohms
Glow plug connector to GPCM connector Less that 5 Ohms
Pin #3 on both is the VBattery
Green connector
pin #1 is gp#5
pin #2 is gp#7
pin #6 is gp#1
pin #7 is gp#3
pin 8 goes to the PCM
pin 9 goes to the PCM
Black connector
pin #1 is gp#6
pin #2 is gp#8
pin #6 is gp#2
pin #7 is gp#4
pin 9 goes to the VPwr
Enjoy

6.0 glow plugs
pin 9 on the glow plug relay should have battery voltage when key is on, no matter what, (small red wire), the white/light green and violet/orange are grounds supplied to gpcm to energize, if you have both of these inputs, it should be working, make sure the fuse links arent open and the connectors are properly clipped in at harnesses. if its setting a p0683 also, id replace the module. both connectors are the same.
