It depends on the factory charge indicator you have in the dash.
If you have an ALT light, the STA stud of the alternator connects directly to the S input of the regulator, as well as the electric choke. If you have an ammeter (amp gauge), the STA stud of the alternator goes only to the electric choke and does NOT go to the regulator. In this case, hot-in-RUN power from the truck connects to the S input of the regulator through a GREEN with RED stripe wire. In both cases, the F output of the regulator connects directly to the FLD stud of the alternator.
