Nice write up on pulling the cab. I wish someone would do a video. It took my buddy like 2 days to replace the motor in my truck. I have to do it again as the motor was bad. I am thinking of pulling the cab this time.

05 f150 supercrew cab removal problem

went to pull engine on 05 f150. can't get to most everything around engine. motor mount was a pain on drivers side. dealer had replace torque converter at 36,400, miles (4 bad injectors on pass side wiped out converter and starter). funny how a recall on the injectors for that year didn't cover mine and had 2 more go out 6 months later. anyway dealership over tightened converter bolts and can't get half broke loose. Needless to say the cabs coming off. Should have been 2 hrs. but here I set with everything off and the frigging cab won't break free from frame. bolts and nuts are off from inside and underneath of cab and front end. what gives.

Under the truck disconnect: parking brake cable, harness connector underneath plastic cover on driver's side, ground strap on passenger side, you can either remove the nuts holding the cab mounts to the frame or go inside and get under the carpet to remove the cab bolts. Also don't forgrt to disconnect the exhaust, torque converter nuts, engine mount bolts, lower bell housing bolts, and starter b/c once the cab is in the air you cant lift the frame. It sounds like a lot but once you get started it will prob take 2 hrs to have the cab in the air. Just lift it slowly and have someone watching for anything still connected. good luck
when you say "you cant lift the frame" are you simply saying that because the cab is occupying the lift, or is there another consideration?

Yeah thats why, the cab is tieing up the lift. Plus you dont want to move the frame once the cab is up or it will make it harder to align the two going back together.
