Cab removal questions

Long story short, my trany took a dump. I had wanted to replace my cab with a good rust free cab I have, and it seems to me swapping tranys would be alot easier with the cab out of the way. I know a lot of you guys have removed the cab from your truck's. What are the steps in pulling the cab? Bolts? wiring? steering? front clip? What else? How heavy is a extended cab?

honestly, theres no real steps to it... just start unhooking stuff really. Unhook the front clip, the harness will unhook at the firewall, undo your brake lines, and steering. im sure there are a few other things... and dont forget you cab to frame ground straps. then unbolt the mounts and lift away, always make sure you didnt miss anything, and that nothing catches while lifting the cab off. Also, if youre replacing the cab, thats one thing... but if this is just to do the tranny... well it WAAAY easier to do it underneath. Im sure i must of misread, but just sayin that. Oh, and the tranny shifter will have to be dealt with.

I recommend stripping the cab out as well, seat and doors if your not using that cab, but also there's other parts to remove like speedo cable, trans lines if auto and starter cable.
I've never removed the dog house with radiator, but its dueable I'm sure with acouple buddies to help- lift.

Do you need to remove the steering column as well, and is that hard to do?
