How do head lights work ?????
More questions....darn newbies.
Okay my 59 head light switch has 2 detents when i pull it out. The first detent turns on all the exterior lights, what does the second detent turn on ?
Shouldn't the first detent turn on just the "park lights" and dash lights and the second detent turn on the head lights ?
I have a dome light also, but it is turned on with an aftermarket toggle switch, shouldn't a rotation of the headlight **** turn on the dome light ?

i recently bought a NOS headlite switch from dennis carpenter, and it worked as you discribed, This is not how I wanted it to work ( I wanted off-parking-headlites), so me being me, i took the switch apart, and reversed the switch contacts... these old switchs are so easy to dissasemble, they are held together with 4 small tangs, and i did have to make a notch in the plastic, so the switch would go back together. Total time to modify..... less than 30 minuites
