Bully Dog Tuner
About 6 months ago i installed a Bully Dog Tuner in my 2007 F-250 with a 5.4 gas engine . Just before Christmas i decided to sell the truck as my new truck was in . I uninstalled the GT-Tuner as i was going to use it in my new truck . After i un-installed the tuner , the truck would not turn over . All i had was dash lights . My odometer didnt show numbers just lines . After spending days on the phone with Bully Dog , them trying to flash my ECM with the tuner they decided that there was nothing they could do . To my dismay i had to tow my ever so reliable truck to the dealer where they determined my ECM needed to be replaced . After replacing ECM truck works like it used to . My question is , has anyone else has a similar problem ?

While I cannot state that this is common to BD, it is not unusual for the "Aftermarket tuning industry". There are quite a few issues and alot of horror stories. http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...ceTechTips.pdf the engineers at Ford racing have a article on just exactly how these “tuners” play games with the hp/tq ratings, how calibration can cause misleading dyno results, & some of the “tricks” that are used to gain supposed power increases that place the drivtrain in jepardy and what is most unfortunite, these "mail order tuners' are not regulated like any other auto repair shop in the US...so if they "damage" your car...gee, sorry...sue me!
