converting carb to fuel injection

converting carb to fuel injection
I have an '84 standard shift that needs a carb rebuild. I also have a '94 automatic with a blown head gasket. Can I pull the fuel injection equipment off the '94 and put it on the '84. Before anybody suggests I just replace the head gasket, the body on the '94 is horrible and I like standard shift. Thank you.

Yes you can. There are very few differences between and '84 and an '94 300. You'll most likely want to swap the head from the fuel injected engine over since the chambers are designed for the EFI computer.
The other thing to note is that you'll need the high PSI fuel pump from the EFI engine. Pull the mechanical fuel pump off the '84 and put a block-off plate over the opening.
There'll also probably be a few other issues to deal with as well.
The other thing to keep in mind is that the onboard computer for the '94 is for an automatic transmission. I think there are ways of "fooling" it for your manual trans, but it might just be easier to hit up a junk yard and get a computer out of an EFI truck with a manual transmission.

I did this swap about a month or so ago. You have the donor truck right? Super simple swap when you actually start doing it.
I did a 91 F150/EFI 300 w/M5OD into a 89Bronco/Carbed 300 W/originally AOD.
Easiest way is to just swap the whole complete motor. Pull the 84s and drop the trans. I found dropping the motor with trans attached to be the easiest. Pull 94s motor and trans out, drop straight into 84. I had the front clip off but pulling the radiator support should be sufficient. Hook up clutch pedal assembly and steal a fivespeed computer off a junkyard truck. Use all the wiring from the 94.
Either way, the head has to come up regardless of whether or not you swap whole motor or just the head with efi.
