choosing the right piston

choosing the right piston
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 351w and am going to be doing a few things to it. camshaft, d0oe 351 heads and will be putting a 4 barrel on it. but I'm also looking for a piston that will bump my compression up to 9 and a half. how do I go about buying my pistons and choosing the right one for the compression I want? my block is bored .30 over and also have bigger valves than what was originally on it due to the d0oe heads I will be using. from what I understand there is a lot to consider when buying pistons, can anyone give me some useful tips?

You will need to cc your heads so you will know your chamber volume, head gasket thickness & valve relief cc's, if applicable. If the piston is not zero decked then you will need to cc it to find the volume. Unless you are going to have custom pistons made then you will have to settle for what you can get with whats available. Most all piston mfgrs can tell you roughly what you will get with what piston they offer with your spacific head volume.
