2012 F250 Sync iPhone 5 question

New to the site this is my first post and I picked up my F250 two days ago. Sync only allows me to play my music off my iPhone 5 if I have it connected with the usb. Is this the normal operation or is there a way to play music from my iPhone 5 with it bluetoothed because it currently won't let me. My friend has a 2011 F150 with an iPhone 5 and he bluetooths his music through sync. Can someone please enlighten me on this issue. Thank you very much.

I don't have an iPhone, but on my Android phone, I have to select to "enable media" through bluetooth. I can only do this while the phone is connected to Sync, otherwise the option is greyed out.

There have been quite a few that have come across that issue with iOS6, but should have been fixed with 6.0.1 and 6.0.2.

Does the phone recognize the bluetooth signal and pair with the stereo?

I have an iPhone 5 and a 2012 F-250. Bluetooth audio works just fine!

I figured out how to get it to work but I have to scroll through and turn it on every time. I just want it to work when I switch to sync without having to scroll through everything

If your phone isn't pairing or autoconnecting try this with the truck off:

1. On the iphone that you want to auto connect, do a "FORGET THIS DEVICE" in the SETTINGS>BLUETOOTH function for the Stereo (tap the ">")

2. Turn BLUETOOTH OFF in SETTINGS>BLUETOOTH on the iOS device

3. TURN THE KEY TO ON OR START THE TRUCK

4. Turn BLUETOOTH ON in SETTINGS>BLUETOOTH on the iOS device

5.Go to SETTINGS>BLUETOOTH on the iOS device and PAIR to the Dashboss

Should pair or autoconnect no problem after that.
