F250 Question and Job question

Hi Everyone!

I have a question Is there anyone on this part of the forum that uses their F250 SD for pulling those new Campers from Indiana? I ask because I ran accross a company called Synergy RV transport, and I was just wondering if anyone know anything about them?

thank you in advance

Their website looks informative
Truck Requirements

My buddy does transport, the hours are insane. He uses a f250 occasionally but prefers his van for several reasons, 1 being it is more comfy to sleep in.

You posted in the Excursion forum, so I moved your thread to the SuperDuty forum since you're specifically directing your question to F250 owners.

I can't comment on using an F250 for that type of work, but what I have heard from drivers is that it is brutal work with little profit after maintenance.

I ran some numbers on it a year or so ago, and couldn't see any way to make even minimum wage after costs/maint/expenses/etc. So I passed. Way too many working hours to barely break even and wear my truck out in 5 years.

Kudos to those that do it though.

There's a guy here named "run6.0run" who put somewhere around 1 million miles on a pair of 6.0s hauling RVs, one was a dually and one was an F250. Runs a shop called Super Duty Service now, but he might have heard of that company.

Send him a message:
Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - View Profile: run6.0run

His stories are crazy, things like not shutting the truck off for an entire oil change interval and putting over 100k on set of tires.

You would also need to look into the DOT rules and regulations.

I see a lot of those guys when I am at truck stops. Besides the money factor, I wouldn't be happy sleeping in the backseat of a pick up every night. I've seen a few with sleepers on them, but they are still normal width and wouldn't give you room to stretch out. I drive a truck for a living, but it has to pay enough to make it worth it to me to be gone from home. I can't imagine it would pay that much.

Actually, to be legal, they have to have a "sleeper" on their truck. A 4 door with a back seat isn't legal according to a buddy i know that drove one for several years. I've slept in my truck because I couldn't make it home. One time was 10 miles from home!

I had been working/on the road for 24 hours, and I was running off the road. Pulled into a Park-n-Ride to take a short nap. Woke up 4 hours later! Literally 15 minutes from my house!

You don't have to have a sleeper to be legal, you just can't log "sleeper" time if you don't.

Seems like an F-250 might be at its limits or could force you to pass on certain deliveries because of weight. I'm quite confident the SD can handle the job, but do the economics of this offset the wear and tear on your personal vehicle?
