I think the transmission is a C6 not a cruise-o-matic. There is a picture in photobucket of the trans pan picture 30..can you guys take a look and confirm?

C6 Cruise-O-Matic is what FoMoCo referred to it as when first introduced in 1966.

Trans pan has 17 bolt holes and it was the only A/T available w/a 400 in an F100/350.

When the C4 was first introduced in 1964, it too was called a Cruise-O-Matic.

And speaking of correct FoMoCo terminology, it's Flareside. A Stepside is a Chevrolet.

you sir are correct on terminology, but on my last 72 it became a stepside because the rear fenders were off a chevy. Ok so I have a C6? I am not home to count the bolts at the moment.

1961/78 F100/350: FoMoCo used the G Warranty Plate trans code for all A/T's. One had to know which A/T was available with what engine.

Since your truck has a 400, it's a C6.
