Welcome to FTE
F26 = F250 4WD Pickup.
H = 351M 2V
C = Oakville, Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.
CG1746 = 1978.
Truck assembled in Canada, but that doesn't mean it was sold new there. Post the DSO code from the Warranty Plate to determine what Ford District Sales Office, in what city, truck was ordered from.
Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch. Post the codes from it.
1st line: VIN / 2nd line: W.B. (wheelbase in inches) - COLOR - TYPE/GVW - BODY - TRANS - AXLE / 3rd line: MAX GVW LBS - YEAR - DSO
the codes on the door are f0101 and t0874. is there anywhere in the vin that will tell me what trans and options it had? it has a tool box in the bed, dual tanks, and 409 front and 410 rearends. thanks so much!

VIN only has the info I decoded. What else could the 11 digits refer to? TRANS and etc codes located on Warranty Plate, see HIO's example above.
These F0101 & T0874 codes are FoMoCo related only, cannot be decoded. Are printed on Safety Standards Certification Label that is glued to the B pillar (door post) below the striker plate.
Warranty Plate riveted to left door below the latch. Post the codes from it, can be decoded in about a minute. It took me less than 30 seconds to decode the VIN from memory.
i found the plate and used the decoding site listed. thanks so much to both of u. its an original truck. now to work on mods
Options: A copy of the trucks original build sheet (and much more) is available from martiauto.com by passing along your VIN and some buckaroo's. Known in the hobby as a Marti Report.
Kevin Marti, a Mustang/Shelby "nut" located NW of Phoenix AZ, has ALL the original 1967/79 FoMoCo records for everything. FoMoCo has none of this info any longer.
Marti acquired these records in the late 1980's when he found out that FoMoCo was planning to THROW THEM AWAY!
Sometimes a build sheet can be found wedged under the seat springs, the seatback, under the carpet, or the dash. I've read an early Mustang owner finding nine build sheets unceremoniously stuffed behind the glovebox and actually located a couple of the owners to whom the sheets belonged.
Other owners have found Ford labeled rags, Ford coffee cups, Ford stamped pens in the door and trunk cavities. Other weird finds includes wrenches, extra hardware, and eyeglasses.

Or the infamous wrench found behind one of the tail lights.
If you've ever read Ben Hamper's book "Rivethead" you wouldn't be surprised at anything you find inside these trucks, though the author's experience was at GM i'm sure Ford workers of the era were just as debaucherous.
1964/69 TV ad: "Hi folks, Ralph Williams, you'll get more for your car purchasing dollar at Ralph Williams Ford." 'Ol Ralph "laid a lotta people away" with this spiel.
Ralph bought one of the first Mark III's, it had an annoying rattle inside, seemed to be coming from below the left quarter window. When disassembled, a Coke bottle was found. There was enough space for it to roll back/forth.
Hi,
I bought a new ECU as mine is failing, but the company cannot read the 11 digit VIN it has. I have not been able to decode it. Please help. VIN is AJU1NL27322.
And, does somebody know who could reprogram a ECU with this VIN?
Thank you!

What is the year, make and model of the vehicle you are trying to decode? No 73-79 Ford truck came equipped with an ECU.
