Heavy Duty Door Hinges

So I have a big audio system going in my 94 CCLB. The front doors are getting about 70lbs added to them with speakers, tweeters, fiberglass, deadener, and an amp etc.

I'm planning to rebuild the hinges with new bushings, new pin, etc. However, I'm not sure the original hinges will be strong enough to hold up to the weight.

Has anyone out there rebuilt their hinges to be stronger, or is there a company out there that sells beefier hinges than the oem ones?

Thanks for your help guys.

Just keep your hinged lubed(every oil change) and you will be fine. And there is no way you will ad 70lbs to the door unless you are filling the bottom with lead. I would be surprised if you even add 20

I have 4 mid range at 20lbs, I have two bullet tweets at 8lbs, and I have an amp at 15lbs. On top of that, deadener, wood (although I'm using birch to keep weight down), and fiberglass and filler. Its gonna be up there in weight.

That's the plan. Not sinking them in the door. Making a new panel. Just have to make sure the door hinges can hold the weight.

Why? Just remove the seat and make an incloser. the door panels will stick out so far they re going to hit the seat otherwise.

And what speakers are you using that weigh 20lbs and tweeters that weigh 8?

Also, the hinge is stronger than the door, I would be more concerned about fatiguing the sheelmetal

There are 4 mids at 5lbs each, bullet tweets are at 3-4 lbs each. The amp itself is 15lbs. I'm planning to reinforce the door too.

Like I said, the sheetmetal door is going to fatigue. No way to reinforce it the way the hinge plates are mounted. Trust me I know. I have had the 4 door circus going on here foe the past 3 months. I hope I dont see another rear door for another 3 years
