do i really need 2 amps?

In my pickup truck (96 f 250) i have a 300 watt amp behind the seat and i had two old truck boxes wired for 8 inch subs and they sound pretty good.in my doors i have infinity speakers i think there 6 and 1/2? not sure of the power they can handle maybe 175 watts?.now i use to have a small little 100 watt amp just for the door speakers but me not knowing took it out and sold it and you know it i keep blowing out the door infinity speakers.I was wondering do they make a speaker to fit in my door that could handle the 300 watts and wont blow out so i dont have to hook a small amp 100 watter for door speakers?or is this not possible?and i have to go with another small 100 watt amp for those door speakers?..and just so you know i dont listen to rap i listen to rock.

Power does not blow speakers, lack of power does. If you are blowing them then they are probably being overdriven and the amp that is drivng them is clipping which is bad for the amp and worse for the speakers.

I would say add a small quality amp and perhaps look at a set of bass blockers for the doors to keep the sub bass form the door speakers

Actually it IS power that blows speakers. When an amp clips the outputs remain 'on' (in simple terms) for a longer duration. Its the excess heat (from power) created that causes most speakers to fail.

A 25W amp may produce 4 times its rated output when driven to clipping.

OK I should have been more specific in my "power" does not blow speakers. You are of course correct that power does, but it is usually the smaller cheap amps that get pushed into clipping that blow the speaker and a higher power decent amp will drive the speakers to the same or gretaer volume with clean power and allow the speakers to perform rather than have the voice coil fryed by voltage.

Thanks
