Rear drum brake question - weird...

Have completely replaced all components and springs of back and front brakes. Everything. I'm on the last one - the right rear. I put on the new primary spring, then the new secondary spring. When I pull that last spring (for the rear-most/secondary shoe) over the center stub, it somehow pulls the primary shoe 'upward' The primary shoe is still pulled in all the way by its spring but is slightly up. What this does is that it makes me have to back off the starwheel adjuster all the way (unlike the left side, where I could actually get 2-3 revolutions. The other issue is that the shoes aren't centered inside the drum. Weird. When I put the drum on, I have to really push it down and left to get it to fit over the 5 wheel studs. Never had this happen before.

Any clues?

I think I figured it out. The parking brake lever has pulled tension on my secondary brake shoe and is the cause of this issue. I crawled under the truck and the cable that goes to the right side is completely frozen inside its sheath. Did a little searching around the internet and I've seen this issue. Never had seen it before and have worked on lots of old cars and trucks.

What think ye?
