Extended Crank Time

Recently I have had a problem with needing to crank the engine longer before it lights. I pulled a P0341 and P1335. I cleaned the EGR valve and replaced it. When the engine does start there it almost always a puff of black smoke out of the exhaust, and when the engine is cold I believe there it be a raw fuel smell to it. Can a fault with the CMP sensor/circuit cause this or do I need to look at something else? Also want to mention I am getting slightly better fuel economy than usual.

Check the FICM volts and the batteries. Start easy first. I'd also start looking into possible hpo leaks. Black smoke sounds like possible FICM though

i had p1335 a few months back, I cleaned and the code came back a few miles later. Ended up replacing the valve.

P0341 : CMP electrical issue (connector, wiring, or possibly the sensor)
