A.O.D slipping

A.O.D slipping

Hello all I have a problem with my aod.It has about 4000 miles on it 1,2 and 3rd works fine shifts into od fine when you give it gas it slips.truck has 3.50 gears and a 351w.

I didn't think the AOD was ever paired with the 351w in a truck. I thought they were all E4ODs. What year is the truck? F-150? What does the data tag in the driver's door opening show? There is a letter under TR that tells what transmission is in there.

Slipping usually means it's rebuild time. If it hasn't slipped very much it MIGHT be still good.

An AOD will slip if the TV pressure isn't set right. I don't have the procedure to set it, but I know it's critical.
