Cab off?

I have a friend with a 06 F-350 extended cab.

Hes doing his engine , heads and EGR etc.

He was quoted a price of $4500.00, does this sound reasonable?

I looked in Ebay and saw you can buy the whole head gasket kit with head bolts for $250.00?

Also they told him the cab had to come off , Ive heard of this but Ive also heard it doesnt have to come off to do the heads?

Any opinions or thoughts welcomed.

If he is going in tell him to Use OEM HeadGaskets (FORD) and then use ARP HeadStuds instead od the TTY Bolts

He would be Shooting Himself in the FOOT if he went back with TTY Head Bolts

ARP and OEM HeadGaskets is the Only way to Go if he is going In its around 500-600.00$$ for these 2 things but worth it

Try Clay at Riff Raff Diesel for them ARP HeadStuds

He Also needs to Update STC Fitting at HPOP and Also Standpipes and Dummey Plugs at the Oil Rails under the valve covers

Get the Injector Oring from Aliant Power So he can change All Of them on each inject
The Ford OEM Oring Kit Shorts you 1 seal per Inject the One Seal in Questionhere is the Very TOP Oring that seals the HPO Rail To Inject

Is he taking to a Shop????

How hard is it to change that top injector O-ring if you happen to be in there?
Do you use a plastic hook to remove the old one or is that some other way?
Then I take it you dip the new one in oil and put it back in the injector?
Do I have this right?
Thanks

Maybe pull the injector and do it in a box. You will have to
pull it to do the lower O-rings anyway. I guess you could
rig up a holder of some type and have some good light
when you do it so if and when one does fly it can be found.
Do you happen to have a photo of the O-ring installed?
