Stuck. No start. P0700, P1000, P0706, P0707, P1702

I stopped at a convenience store, shut off truck and got out. Got back in truck and started truck. She sounded funny, rpm's a bit higher than normal idle and tow haul started flashing. Shut her down, tried restart and now it won't start.

All fine as far as measurements on my Edge CTS (temp, volt etc). All fluid levels ok.

No check engine light came on so searched for codes on the CTS.
It found P0700, P1000, P0706, P0707, P1702. The description on the CTS describes some tranny circuit sensor fault.
I'm going to call AAA and have it towed. I can't do anything here.
My question is should I tow it home or to a shop? Can I fix this myself or is this some electronic part buried in the tranny?
Any help appreciated.
2003 6.0 4x4 auto 5spd 245,000 miles stock. Tranny rebuild at 226,000 in Aug 2011.

I would take it to whoever rebuilt your tranny. This seems like a warranty issue.

I think its the tp-r sensor. That's the range sensor. It its internal and a definite warranty claim IMHO.

Thanks. So it's definitely nothing I could do myself at home. Good thing it didn't happen 5mins earlier in line at the drive thru. I always shut her down at those mics/speakers.

with SGII you can check Tranny range sensor

IDK if edge will

you might be able to wiggle gearshift and get it to start

I just got a call from the shop to say that it's not the sensor in the transmission, instead it's the fan clutch.

His initial assesment of it being the sensor was based on the codes I gave him and the description of the problem. He got to the truck today and that is what he reported.

Strange how things seem to happen together, but this follows on the heels of skylinetowing's issues ...

I'll find out more info such as were wires cut, or if wires came loose or if part failed and report back.

I think that the Edge CTS is marginal at reading codes. Probably worse than the SGII.

The codes were right and there were no others stored that the Edge couldn't see.
It was the collection of codes together and the no start that led the mechanic to diagnose it as fan clutch from an old bulletin.
New fan clutch installed and truck drove fine on the ride home.
