new oil cooler and still high eot's

OK, I did a oil cooler and egr delete about 2 months ago and all is good until my trip this weekend. I noticed on the highway at 70 MPH my eots were claiming to high. I hit 218 at one point my ects were around 190 -200. I am running zerex g05 I just don't get why my eots are high. As soon as I slow down off the highway they will come down to within 4-6 degrees. Any thoughts??

Temps seemed to be good, I think this was the first time I had it on a long trip so I'm not sure. I did a good flush with vc9 before new oil cooler!! You think it could be cloged again, is it true you can have a little higher oil temp with the egr delete?

I'm wondering if since the cooler is new I could try and flush whatever might be in there out. If not then I guess out it comes, I'm stumped, all the time it took to change it out and still same problem

Well this makes it hard to say what exactly is Going on here

How Many Miles on the New Oil Cooler????

Folks have had good luck flushing new oil coolers that plug soon after the Install vs a Plugged oil cooler that has 80K on it and PACKED with S@!T

Its Possible and you wouldnt be the first on to have this happen

or the other Possiblities would be a Coolant flow Issue

Yes you can have a Bigger Spread since the EGR Cooler is removed and you dont have to worrey about a EGR Cooler melt down and the problems that come with it. The system is alittle More Forgiving without the EGR Cooler

But you still need to cool the Oil IMO

so you still Apply the ECT vs EOT Deltas the same to determine the Oil Cooler Health

No I'm not running a filter, though I'm sure my wife ordered me one for my bday next week!!

The new oil cooler has maybe 1k on it, I have read its more possible to flush a new cooler vs a old one like you said, its just frustrating that it might be clooged AGAIN. Should I do a vc9 flush or just a water flush?

I would think I'm good on coolant flow due to the truck running at 190, right?

At the minimum it needs flushed right at the Port the egr coooler hose goes to but forced threw the oil coooler.

Sound like you might have a bunch of garbage in the cooling system. did you pull the block drains and lower hose and heater lines and reverse flush each section of the coolant system. Even pull thermostat and run cleaner VC-9 threw it at High Idel or 1100-1200 rpms for an Hour parked ?????

I went to Great Lengths to flush mine before I installed new Oil Cooler and seemed to work 15K since and 4-6* spread HWY

Hard to say I know what your getting at with the ECT running at 190* But thats Not the whole storey

Its Harder for the WP to push coolant threw the small veins of the Oil Cooler vs Around cylinders/Heads

Throw a Bad WP or Cavitated front cover in the mix and could have a hard time pushing coolant threw Oil Cooler

IMO First thing to try is Flush right at the Oil Cooler to EGR Cooler Port see what happens stuff a hose in every Port/Hose connect and flush GOOOOD

I did all of that minus the block drains.

I'll go get some vc9 and do another flush, but first I'll pull that cover off and flush the cooler dirctley.

Does your ECT & EOT read the SAME Temp after a 12 Hour Cold soak

theres been a few Bad Temp senders on here the last couple weeks to causing aerror in the temp readings

Just thought that I would throw thes 2 things out there
