No experience, but it looks and sounds like a quality product. It should be at that price.

1940 to 42 ford FLAT HEAD aluminum radiator direct fit MADE IN USA !!!! | eBay
This will get you to their ebay store, I know this isn't the particular radiator you need, but if you read at the bottom of the page. they make all kinds.
Both old_dan and I bought from them, mine in still not installed but it's a nice radiator. it's not polished and there are unsmoothed welds. I didn't care about that, just wanted a good functioning radiator.

edit: here is their weblink http://www.wwwsuperiorradiator.com/50s_carstrucks
I did a "best offer" on ebay $250 and got mine plus $50 shipping.
I also mentioned our forum in hopes to help out other on here...don't know if that helps but it's worth mentioning!
That's all I got to offer!

Did the rad fit with no modifications? Were the rad hoses the correct size or did you have to scavenger for ones that would work? I only ask because I bought an aluminum one for something else and the rad hoses were different size and I had to scavenger for hoses that would work. Than ks for the reply

Hi
Sounds top quality and good price depending on what shipping ends up to be.

That one looks expensive. I bought mine from LMCTruck.com and it fit and works great for $299.95. Just make sure that you order a radiator cap with it as your old one will not fit on the new radiator neck properly.

The only thing about the one old_dan and I got, is you have to drill your own holes to mount it. It fits the radiator support perfectly. You can specify what size you want the inlets, outlets to be. also you can get it with or without the transmission cooler.
Hopefully Dan will drop in here!

I really Didn't consider weight, I have read that aluminum dissipates heat better and it looks better in my opinion. I have always had good luck with aluminum and my vehicles have run cooler with them. I am more into them for the good look though

If that flathead isn't cleaned out really good any radiator you put in will get plugged up and it will run hot

Copper conducts heat better but the tubes are made of brass, which conducts less per square inch surface area than aluminum. It's all about the money... An aluminum radiator will have different number of tubes and different sizes of tubes than a brass radiator. If copper (the main ingredient in brass) was cheap, we'd all have brass radiators. But it isn't, so almost all OEM radiators are aluminum.

Brass radiators are easier to repair if they get a pinhole leak, that is the biggest advantage IMO.

Could anyone here measure the core size of the Superior Radiator bolt in for the 1948 to 1951? I have a brass / copper that appears to work well with a 22" x 22" core. I'm in the middle of an engine swap and want to have it gone through just as insurance. ~ $127 to remove the tanks, rod out the cores and flow test.

Am thinking I might just buy new, but am debating. Anyone have cooling issues with a large V-8? I'll be running a Fuel Injected 6.2L.
Thank you,

Doug
