Turning 1989 F350 into a beast

Ok so most of you all know my family has a 1989 Ford F350 crew cab that we are turning into a 4x4. Well I just got the news that the rear end is a dually Dana 60. The truck's flatbed we are putting on to our 1989 F350. Our truck has a 460 7.5L V8 engine and is going to have a 1982 5 speed transmission and dual range transfer case. The rear end is a limited slip. The whole truck is a project. I need a little help on building a pull everything it hooks up to truck. I know the 7.5L is very capable of doing this. The truck has a gooseneck hitch that we will be using. Any information I need on putting into the truck. Like trailer brake controllers and such. Also we want to put 2011 power extending trailer tow mirrors on this truck is it possible. Plus what is a great front bumper for mounting a 16,500 lbs Warn winch on without breaking. The truck is going to be used on a dirt road daily and will be needing to pull things like our tractor which weighs 16,000 lbs alone and horse trailers. The truck will be a daily driver too so what kind of gear ratio should I go with that will be able to pull alot yet be used for everyday driving? Thanks,
Trav
P.S. I am thinking about trading my 1988 F150 4x4 for my dad's 1989 Ford F250 4x4 flatbed. I need the hauling but not sure if I really want it what do you guys think?

Make your own bumper that is what I did $250 in steel and a weekend with a torch and welder better than those $1500 jobs you can buy.
I think most of the 60 dually axles had 4.10 gears that is what I would run. You might be able to run the new mirrors but it will look pretty weird. Not sure about the goose neck your flat bed isn't already set up?

Thanks for the idea I might make one with an old brush gaurd I have and weld it to a custom bumper so I can have the winch. I was looking at the mirrors and I think they look kinda neat see I don't want my pulling rig to be exactly like every other truck you know I never have any of my vehicles like that. I have never done a pulling rig I have only done off road rigs so this is new to me. The gears sond like I would run them stock yet put possibly put a locker in the front and rear. The goosneck hitch is in the flatbed under a cover and I have to put the flatbed on the truck I have to get two flatbeds on two trucks so working on figuring that out. I am trying to figure out about a trailer break controller what is the best. Price doesn't matter it is a project rig. I was wondering also what are some pretty good dually tires I need some that can go down a dirt road daily yet not wine down the highway we need at least a 10 ply. The back hoe trailer I can pull with my dad's 2002 F250 so I know this one ton can do it. The back hoe trailer is a 32 foot triple axle pintle hitch trailer yet thinking about also getting a goosenck hitch.

8 tons pull will rip the front of the frame right off the truck. (not that it would have the weight to do it)

Maybe you mean a 1992 5 speed?
There were no five speeds available for the 460 in '82.
I don't think they even offered it with a standard transmission... But if Ford did, it would have been a Borg Warner T-18 four speed with un-syncronized granny first gear and 1:1 in top.

The truck is a 1982 or 1983 Ford F250 4x4 it had the 400 tranny with a 5 speed. I know the truck had a 460 engine in it yet 400 tranny.

Not only that but it's a 3spd auto, not a 5spd stick

This is about the only possibility I can fathom.

A C5 automatic???
Still not a five speed, nor a standard, but I can see where the confusion could come from...

But I don't think those came in a 4X4 configuration.
Nothing I've seen or heard of tells me there was a 5 speed gearbox available in that era with a bellhousing pattern that could fit that block.

Believe me, There are many of us on this forum that would have been all over them, if they existed.

The Zf-5 S47 is the grail, with the S42 close behind.
The S42 came out in 1987 and the S47 in 1995.

Just because it was behind a 400 does NOT make it a 400 trans.
It makes it a trans that will fit behind a 351m/400m/370/429/460.

Its it a stick or auto? If stick, is it a cast iron trans? or aluminum?

Like it has been several times before a 5 speed was never offered in a pickup till 87

If it is indeed a 5-speed manual, then it sounds like somebody put a later model 460 ZF behind the 400, which would bolt up. Is it hydraulic or mechanical clutch?

I'll throw out my opinion here. You need a bigger truck.

You're talking a 16,000 pound tractor, plus the trailer. This is going to be over 20,000 lbs. No matter what "upgrades" you do, a 1989 F-350 simply isn't built to haul that kind of load. The pin weight on something like that will likely put you way over your GVWR. You need a medium duty truck.

Also, I hope you realize that you are going need a class A driver's license and are subject to FMCSA regulations.
