I made this bumper recently. It cost me about $300 it is 1/4" steel, I used a Rage saw with a metal blade and a plasma torch to do all of the cutting. I used a Miller welder with stick and mig, lots of gussets and stiffining pieces on the back side 6 3/4" bolts hold it to the frame, I painted it with stone guard about 4 cans nice and thick. If any one wants to make one 86 the compound angles unless you're real good at trig, I got an unexpected lesson in the middle of this project haven't done any sence college. Fun project though. No winchyet but it is in the works, I'm looking at the 9.5 warn.
Let's see your custom work!
Very nice work. I've been thinking about tackling a custom bumper for mine. I like all the angles on yours, and I do remember my trig pretty well, I did some tutoring back in college. Would be a fun welding project to put my Miller through. Can't wait to see more custom work pics, and I'll post mine if I can go through with it.
Haha no stinger fans. I hit a bull going 45 a couple of years ago and it wasn't pretty it came up on my hood, and I have had a few other close calls but a 1500lb bull will make a pretty good dent in an 87 f250 so this was my attempt at a "bull" bumper
Yeah it is due for another paint job soon the paint I used the first time was crap and I have already stripped the back half of the truck and primed it paint will be soon to come I will post pics on this thread.

oh dude mines worse. a mix of satin black and a bunch or primer sprayed in weird areas you can see blue with a red stripe on the roof. the po really botched the paint job up. when its not winter anymore im gonna sand the crap out of it and redo the satin black cuz i kinda dig it. maybe a skull on the hood(davey jones or crimson ghost not sure)
Mine isn't as pretty as yours is, but its definitely functional. Got it all tacked together yesterday, gonna finish weld it and paint it in the next week here hopefully. The center of the bumper is the winch mount off of a warn enforcer bumper (which a buddy of mine wrecked because he decided to put a chain through the fog light hole and yank the bumper off the truck) the biggest pipe is gas pipe, and the smaller diameter pipe is really thick roll cage pipe.
Nice I like it! That will look great when you paint it! I used stone guard on mine it looks good and is very tough I use mine as a step to get at my engine a lot and I have hit a few trees with it so it gets beat up a lot but the paint is holding on strong just clean it well with brake cleaner before you do it.
