Expedition won't start after heater core install

Replaced the heater core on my friend's 1998 Expedition. Got it all put back together and we're 99.8 percent sure we got all electrical connections correct but now the truck won't start. Engine cranks but will not start. We're getting spark but apparently no fuel. We cranked the engine with the fuel line disconnected under the hood and no gas came out. We checked the fuel cutoff switch and it was not tripped. Is there a connection we may have missed when putting the dash back in? What else might be causeing this?

If you failed to reconnect the PATS connector then the anti-theft system can't read the key. The result is a flashing Theft light on the dash and a disabled fuel pump.

Will the theft light flash only when cranking the engine or will it flash with just the key inserted? I don't remember seeing a flashing red light but it was late and we were all pretty frustrated at that point. I guess it is possible that the fuel pump went bad but that would be a helluva coincidence.

Anti-theft is securely connected and not flashing on the instrument panel. Fuse under the hood related to fuel pump is good also. If anyone has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

diagnostic computer says there is a problem with the "fuel pump driver modual circuit". Any ideas where to go from there? Most common culprit??

If the fuel pump relay is good then you're stuck replacing the module. It's under the back of the truck over the rear axle. I too find it odd that it worked before you took the dash apart and it didn't work after you put it back together. Could there be another fuse that's not marked as a fuel pump fuse which could be blown?

Which engine?

Are you getting a P1233 or is it P1234?

Check fuse 19.
Check the fuel pump relay.
Check to be sure the Inertia fuel switch isn't tripped.

Then check for power and ground at the FPDM connector.

WAIT! I didn't think the early Expy's had a FPDM!
Just what code are you getting?

The code is P0230 - Fuel pump primary circuit malfunction. My mechanic friend swapped out the fuel pump relay but to no avail. Also said the there is no current going to the fuel cutoff switch. Just to recap, here is what has been checked:

Fuel cutoff switch was not tripped and the connection is secure
fuel pump fuse was checked and not broken
fuel pump relay checked
anti-theft connection checked and secure
code P0230 thrown

So, which engine did you say?

Do you have any voltage at the fuel pump relay harness connector? (With the key in the "ON" positon, the pin #30 of the fuel pump relay harness side should read battery voltage.)
