me and my wife did a motor swap in our 1989 f150, we got spark and fuel but it wont fire. what could it be

 

Are you sure you have cylinder 1 on the compression stroke when you set the distributor? Very common mistake to be "180" degrees out.

What engine do you have?

Are you sure you have the correct spark plug wiring for the firing order your engine uses?

 

I have the 302, correct firing order and im thinkin that i put the dist in wrong, i set the no 1 at tdc BUT i dont think i put it on the compression stroke, i have the motor at tdc and the rotor is pointing between the no 5 and no 1 post

Thanks so much friend!!!! Your post helped us out so much, turns out we were 180 out. So we fixed it set it to 10BTC and it fired right up!!! FTE HELPED US OUT SO MUCH!!!
