Angry 86 f-150 won't stop turning over

I got a 86 f-150 4x4 with the 300 inline 6 and a 4 speed when I go to turn the key it just keeps sending power to the starter the first time it did it I disconnected the battery and replaced the solenoid which worked for a day and then it did it again so I got a new solenoid and ignition switch but it still does it?

If you're concerned with the ignition switch unplug the ignition lead from the solenoid and apply a 12v source from the battery and release... it should crank whenever power is applied. If not it's in the solenoid, if it does stop it's in the switch. (truck in neutral of course).

Lots of guys on here have reported getting multiple, one after the other, bad solenoids and many of those had welded themselves shut. Apparently all were made "overseas", so the prevailing theory is to buy Autolite or Borg-Warner, or get used ones from the salvage.

So, if pulling the wire like Blue86 doesn't do it then you have a welded solenoid. Throw it away and buy a top-of-the-line one. It'll cost more but it should actually work.

I had the same thing happen to the '83 I had. Ended up buying a "premium" relay and it lasted a long time. Another thing to get checked is your starter, just to make sure it isn't over-amping. On my current '86, it kept eating the relays so I had the starter checked and it was pulling so many amps, it would shut down the tester.
