Anyone looked into swapping out the whole steering column from a newer truck into an '80-'86 with tilt? I don't know what year Ford switched from the "rag" to the "U" joint connection from the steering shaft to the box but that would be nice and maybe with the newer style turn signal innards. I've replaced my turn signal cam 1500 times (give or take 1000) in my '86 and it never lasts more than a few months.
But say you put a 91 Ford truck steering column into a 85 Ford truck is the wiring going to work or do you have to change the signal switch to match year of truck?
