Hi
Just picked up a 2001 F250 4wd with a 7.3 engine. It seems to be in good mechanical shape but there are a few minor problems. The power door locks don't move and the power mirrors are not working.
The door locks: I hear a clicking on all 4 doors but they don't lock or unlock.
The mirrors: The passenger mirrior will move in one direction but nothing on the drivers side. I think it might be the control toggle or switch.
i know most of the time these type of problems are common and most likly have been discussed. If someone could offer some advice or help I would really appriciate it.
also if there is any advise for a new 7.3 owner or things I should do for a engine with 186K please let me know.

 

I put in a new mirror switch that fixed my mirror problems, Got it from AM Auto Parts for $20. For 5 years I thought my mirrors were broke haha.

This link helped me save a ton of money. It took me about 2-3 hours by myself for all four doors, but now I couldn't stop the locks from working if I wanted too! TOTAL COST LESS THAN A DOLLAR.

Thanks, I thought there had to be something on here. I only had the truck one day and I miss those power locks.

 

The door lock fix is awesome. The first one will take you about an hour. the rest will take you about 20 min each. Did mine 2 yrs ago and still work great. Knock on wood. Good luck

 

I just tried the first lock actuator. I took me some time to get the actuator out. I missed the part about sliding it and broke the plastic. Crazy glue to the rescue. Next got the motor apart, replaced the metal piece put it back together and the motor still dosen't work. I will look at it tomorrow. Now that I killed the first one the rest should go easer.Wish me luck.

 

I replaced my mirror switch yesterday, and it fixed my mirror problems. Switch cost me $18.
