power door locks and mirrors

i have a 2000 f150 with a few electrical gremlins, and was wondering if anyone had some input. when i hit the power door locks everything clicks, and the solinoids try to move the locks but it seems like they arn't powerful enouf. i don't think its the switch itself, but i'm thinking that its either the soilinoids themselves (worn and not strong enouf), or they are not getting full power. everything in the door itself seems to move freely. has anyone run into this problem before and any suggestions on where to start? also i am having the same problem as the other power mirror problem (the mirrors moving in wrong direction). first i was popping fuses, then when i finally got it kinda working, they would move sideways and all crazy like. has anyone investigated into this at all? thanks for the help in advance.

Usually if the power door locks don't seem strong enough it's because the actuators are dieing and will need to be replaced.
Most of the time a new mirror control switch will get them working right again.

Check for bad ground

Had a similar problem. Check the ground from the negative battery cable to the firewall. Found hidden corrosion in this wire. Made the power windows and door locks do CRAZY things. Hit the door lock, the relays would start clicking and going crazy!! Also made the instrument panel guages go to zero and the power windows would not operate. Thought I had the dreaded windsheild leak but after pulling the fuse box and checking for corrosion, no indication of leaks. It drove me "crazy" for weeks.
