Newb questions; Two issues-Door Locks and Power Mirrors
As I mentioned before, I bought Dad's 2000 F350 Super Cab XLT 7.3L 2WD 3.73 rear (72,000 miles now)
Issue 1: The door locks when activated inside the cab do not go down.(There is no FOB, key only) I hear a click, but they don't lock. Whats the first thing to look at?
Issue 2: Power mirrors do not work. I have to manually flex them. Whats the first thing to look at?
Thank you in advance!

Mak, Lock actuators, pull the panels, remove door handle-BE CAREFUL there’s little plastic connectors for the rod that are 18 years old. Watch the actuator as someone hits the switch. Something may be disconnected, broken off or just not working properly. I had one door that the lock never worked, I put a new actuator on it it worked for about a week and then stopped. Turns out all the fine dust in the locking mechanism kept gumming and wanted to push the actuator of the fingers that hold it in place. I used electrical cleaner, Engine degreaser and basically continue to use the actuator until I cleaned it out and now it works flawlessly.
Regarding mirrors, First do you actually have POWER mirrors? Then fuses, connections then bad motors- then upgrade to late model truck mirrors!
Welcome to FTE… where we will spend your money for you faster than you do!

4 new lock actuators
The first door always takes the longest, but by the last one, I was finished in 10 minutes. Great video from A1 and a good price on the parts. Next job is the power fold/telescope and heater tow mirrors like on my brothers 2011 250. Mirror envy is a thing. A little scared of all the wires though. Good reading for the winter months. Thanks again for all the current info.

Hey Big Mak,
Weak door locks is what brought me to FTE years ago. Was searching the interwb and found a how to fix them for free. Been here ever since.
Here's that thread, same one Farming250 mentioned.

I have a 2000 F250 LTD with the same configuration as yours and had the same problems. I ended up replacing the door lock actuator on the passenger side and cleaning and lubing the drivers side. My mirrors quit working slowly and it turned out the interior switch was bad. I found one in a junk yard out west somewhere and when replaced both mirrors worked. Those switch assy seem to be made to the panel that houses all the other switches (door locks, windows, and child lock) and are hard to find. I hope I'm wrong and the mirror switch is available elsewhere but I lucked up on the panel and it solved my problem.
