Alright so Im hoping to see the new cluster Friday. IF that doesnt work. Could the actual computer that controls the transmission be bad? Or are these the wrong symptoms.

Ahh well, sorry I missed ya. His was a 96P like mine and caused issues like min that's how we got to talkin. I diddnt catch what year the donor gauges came from. I was hoping one of the gurus would verify all that. I know it came outta gas donor.

Yeah the tranny controls can be the cause and I've seen TSB's on it. Don't think they were for a specified code being thrown...I.e. my torque converter clutch. I think most programmers fix it ifn you have one. Mine hasn't been updated or chippedthe and works now. But prolly could use something as it shifts weird once in awhile. Hard to tell since I got it rebuilt 3yrs ago and it's been sittin while I chased down other crap. And worked too much. Figure I needa blow the soot out before I get to changing things.

I feel yours is the gauge cluster, i've seen others like I said, made the shifter blink. It would definately help if you get it scanned. If the gauges don't work...MAKE SURE you do this first. It really narrows it down.

The blinkin light could be anything from 1st gear clutch slippage(new tranny) down to a freakin taillight it turns out. Just thinkin bout it makes me wanna start drinkin again.

At least it was a cheap fix! If I get the cluster friday I will probably throw that in and if it is STILL doing it. Then I'll go to the ford dealership where my buddy works. I just dont want to drive it shifting like that. Also its def not slipping. Just shifts hard.

If you have to drive it disconnect the battery and try to reset it. It'll take 10a mi or so to come back up...maybe

WELL I got the new cluster in and it fixed all my issues! While I was in there I changed all the bulbs too. Brandy new cluster pretty much now! So now I went ahead and just ordered the punisher valve body, 6.0 trans cooler, stacks, stack kit, boost gauge, egt gauge, trans temp gauge, gauge pod, lighted visor, 3" dp, stack, and a TS 6 pos chip hopefully it goes good! And once I do the stage 1's I sure hope it blows some smoke out of the stacks!
