What are these wheels?

So my parts truck has these wheels, and I'm not sure what they are. I've had several people comment on them, but I wish I knew what they were. Plus, I'm not planning on keeping them for the rebuild, so what would you guys put for a value on them? Perfect condition, and tires are 90%.

Man, I would kill for a set of those!! Perfect for my Bronco, as it's current chrome plated steel wheels are flaking and rusted. They look like crap!

This is the wrong part number for this wheel, these specs match:

FOTZ-1007-A .. Cast Aluminum Deep Dish Wheel ~10 circular openings with Rivets.

Marked with ID number: 81 / Illustrated in the 1990/ Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog as type 24.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOTZ-1007-F .. Cast Aluminum Wheel ~ 15" x 7.00" / 5 lug, 5.50" bolt circle / Looks totally different, has 10 openings, 5 are rectangular slots, 5 are oblong slots.

Marked with ID number SL524 / Illustrated in the 1990/ Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog as type 15.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Styled Aluminum and Styled Steel wheels were introduced in 1977 for F100/150's and E150's. Bronco's used the same wheels beginning in 1978.

D8TZ-1007-E ~ This cast aluminum wheel looks similar to FOTZ-1007-A / 15" x 6" / 5 lug, 5.50" bolt circle / 10 circular openings w/o rivets / Marked: JJT

Applications: 1978/89 F100/150, Bronco & E100/150.

you guys are amazing. I had no idea that these were actually ford wheel. So was there a difference between 2wd and 4wd rims, different center caps maybe?

I belive the center caps was the only difference. I too love those wheels!!! The only ones I ever find here are crap from the salt in the winter.

American racing makes a set that look very similar called the "outlaw 2", which can be drilled to accept the Ford center caps.

Yeppers. They are genuine Ford wheels. Some of the nicest looking wheels what ever made it onto Ford trucks. They can make even the ugliest truck look purdy as can be!

would they be polishable do you think? I like them, but my truck will have all chrome trim, so aluminum wheels may look funny

Follow the link in my sig to see how I polished mine and the results. Warning: Lots of work, but beautiful results.

XJ - Remembering that you are concerned about aluminum vs chrome, I realize I should have told you what a guy said to me about my wheels. I was parting a truck, with mine sitting a few feet away, when a young guy in another Ford truck pulled up. Turns out he'd spoken for some of the parts as well, so we started talking as we worked. Pretty soon he said something about my chrome wheels. I told him they are the same as his, only polished. He said that his were aluminum and mine chrome, but I assured him mine are aluminum as well and told him I could give him the part # off the backs of his and mine to prove it.

Actually, mine don't really look like chrome when you look closely, but they pass for it when you don't think about it. However, under the clear powder they really do look like chrome, but the powder softens it a bit.

Gary, your wheels look amazing! You can tell you put quite a bit of time into them to get them that nice. I think what I'll end up doing is keeping them with the aluminum finish, since they look brand new, and end up getting a set of slightly larger chrome wheels. I'd hate to destroy perfect ford beauty, especially since so many people seem to want them the way they are.

XJ - Mine were coated at the factory and in the few places it was still good the finish looked just like my finished product.
