Map sensor

I have a drop off in fuel mileage, black smoke when I hit the skinny pedal. Even if I don't hit it that hard. I checked for boost leaks today with the diesel site boost leak detector. Found one small leak, but it still holds pressure for about 30 seconds. I'm thinking it may be the MAP sensor, but how do I verify without a scan tool.

Have you cleaned your EBPS tube lately? I assume your not getting hard codes (SES light). Can you get it read for codes?

Roland was suggesting the EPB tube. Its located in the front of motor, pass/ side of waterpump. Theres a sensor atop the tube as well. That tube goes from sensor to pass/ side manifold...

Pretty much. Chances are its not clogged, but its easy and free to check, and it is a possibility. Just poke something in the hole that the EBP tube goes in.
