2002 f250 ambient air sensor and readout.
I have an 02 f250. Im looking for the ambient air temp sensor. i looked around the front of the radiator, but could not find it. Not sure if it came stock on my truck. There is no overhead console with readout, but Id sure like to get one. If I pull on the overhead liner, there are wires that look like speaker wires????? Is it possible to get a console from a yard and hook it up to read air temp and milage??

If you look through the front grill and to the right side of the radiator, that is where the outside air temp sensor is mounted, when equipped. If your truck doesn't have an overhead console, you don't have the sensor. What I did is buy a Gentex auto dimming rear view mirror off ebay that included the wiring and sensor and put that in my 02 instead. There's a little square in the mirror that gives a digital readout showing outside temp as well as what direction I'm driving.

The factory sensor would go between the headlight and the radiator as in this picture. This picture is of an aftermarket sensor but it is on the correct location.
If I recall, they were only equipped on Lariat models because only Lariat models had the overhead console on the 99-03 trucks. That may not be 100% accurate but thats what I think if I recall.
