sorry for the delayed responce,
Transmission is not happy... it has damaged several parts and had a bearing chew out a support shaft.. The trans repair man did tell me all the things that require repair and i can get them if anyone would like to know ..

Short of it is he will be rebuilding the tranny with low stall modified converter and valve bodies ETC, ETC . all the thing i decribed before plus a few more

the trans only had 100,000 km on it had done to good towing but not what i would call excessive

I have a temp guage incorporated with the Gryphon tuner so i monitor the tranny temp anyway

Thats why Im getting the JW trans now. Nothing wrong with my box but Im not hanging on to it to find out. Gunna pull it out and sell it for 1500 so my JW ends up costing me 5000. Your the 3rd guy I know that has been through this. Glad you are getting it sorted Geoff.

 

Tell us how it worked out Geoff, and what the rebuilt tranny is like and cost.

I'm thinking of following Brian and getting a JW tranny and billet TC and having them shipped over. My truck has 120,000 k's on it, and the PO used to tow a big caravan behind it.

 

Hows the new box going Geoff?? Are you happy with the end result. Notice any difference ??

 

Well I reckon he had to go the quickest route to a replacement trans - which was a local rebuild. I guess we won't hear anymore from Geoff while the rebuild holds up. I hope it does.

It's a tough call when you're depending on your truck for your living - quick local vs shipping time from the US.
