They have a little more "reach" and they don't cost anymore than the pre-EFI plugs.

Well, it is thought by some to help flame propagation in the cylinder. When I changed to the EFI plugs I gained some RPM at idle and had to adjust the idle spreed down. YMMV

There is a lot of talk about plugs here and I am so glad to learn this info! Thanks! I feel good that I just got Autolite plugs for my '69 240. But what wires do you recommend for a bone stock 240? I got Autolite wires also because the parts place's book says that was original equipment. In the past I have run bosh wires and plugs on most everything, however that is mostly VWs Air and water.

What I do is use Motorcraft plugs for an EFI engine in my '69. They are longer and they seem to make the engine run smoother.

E3 is garbage. It is famous for having the tip break off inside your engine. This is bad for obvious reasons.

The autolites, motorcraft are fine....I look for wires that are the largest diameter I can get (typically around 8mm) and make sure they are "insulated" or aka "Resistor Wires" ...if not, you can sure get the old "ignition buzz" over the speaker for the tunes.

COOL BREEZE!! Like I said I have always used Bosch wires and plugs. The only time I used any other brand it was off brand crap that I regretted so I went back to Bosch. I figured original equipment would be good stuff. But its always nice to here from people who have used them!
