21 OBDII Codes!!??

I checked my father-in-laws 2002 Expedition today, from what I can tell the transmission is going into limp mode. My scanner finds 21 trouble codes.
p1747 p0750 p0755 p1747 p0750 p0755 p0743 p0443 p1451 p0743 p0443
p1451 p0135 p0141 p0155 p0135 p0141 p0155 p0161 p0401 p0301.

I looked up a lot of these codes, there are a lot of transmission codes, 02 sensor codes, MAF codes, EGR codes. This is a relatively low mile truck which previously ran pretty well, and the engine still sounds nice and smooth.

My thoughts was that it was something electrical, maybe a relay, or something shorted out. I did notice that he had a slow leak from his master cylinder, maybe that shorted something out? Was wondering if anyone has had a problem like this. Thanks.

Any idea if some things have been fixed in the past? Can you drive it for 1/2 hour to an hour? If so, clear the codes and start from scratch and see how many codes return.

I know the misfire code was fixed in the past im sure some of the other codes may have been as well.
Immediately after clearing the codes I had 15 pending codes. He has to drive It tomorrow so I planned on seeing what codes it had tomorrow after work. The AC just went out as well he just informed me as I am writing this reply.

With that many codes, I would start by examining the wiring harness for a spot that might've worn through and be rubbing against ground.

You have a blown fuse: The one that is common to all those sub-assemblies and sensors that are now "off-line".

Find the blown fuse and find the short-circuit that is causing it to blow and you'll be fine.

SEARCH keyword(s) "+fuse +F23" (cut and paste the quoted string into the search box).

As for the "leak from the master cylinder", if that leak is from the switch on the cylinder, someone might want to check to see if recall 05S28 has been done.

It was a blown fuse, or rather a missing fuse, Ive been been meaning to get back on here to reply. We replaced the cruise control cutout switch which was blowing its fuse. My father in law, misreading the owners manual, pulled what he thought to be a spare fuse to replace the blown one. The fuse he pulled and which was missing was what was causing all the codes. Long story short we finally figured it out. Thanks everyone for your help.

If would be helpful if you provided SPECIFICS such as the exact fuse number in each case.

The fuse it was originally blowing over and over was fuse #15 on the passenger compartment fuse box, which was caused by the cruise deactivation switch leaking, which I believe is the recall that you mentioned,projectSHO89. We fixed that - buying the part was easier and faster than driving to the nearest ford dealership. That fuse blew and he pulled what he thought was a spare fuse but was actually fuse #F23. This made matters worse, and caused all of the codes, except for a misfire code, which is another matter I will have to help him take care of soon. I think he has a pretty good idea whats causing the misfire though so shouldnt be a huge problem. I missed your post till today, projectSHO89, where you nailed the problem on the head. Thanks for you help though and if there is a moral to this story, look for missing fuses as well as blown ones.

So let me see if I have this right, you own a Ranger and have a friend with an F-150 that you thought you could help out by asking about his vehicle in the Expedition/Navigator forum? I would think you'd get better help from fellow F-150 owners in the F-150 forum.
