How to prevent front overhead & Cargo bed lights from coming on when dr opens for hunting & fishing
This is my first truck: 2011 F150 Lariat Ecoboost SuperCrew 4x4 5.5 foot bed. I want to be able on occassion to prevent the front & cargo bed lights from coming on when I open the doors, but not on a permantant basis. The rear dome light has a "On,Off, Door" switch but not the other two. It is not mention in the manual how to do this and the service department did not know there was no switch. Thanks, for the help, Chuck
On the 2009-2010s, the dash backlight **** has a "switch" at each end of its travel - one turns the interior lights on, the other locks them out even when the doors are open.

Good info! I would rep you, but I need to spread the love first.
Thanks for the reply. I just tried the switch but the 2011 dimmer switch has no effect on the on the front over head light when held in either extreme left or right position.
No problems with Ecoboost thus far. Just have to hold on when I gun into traffic.. Fill up of the 26 gal tank was $93. for reg. You can get a 36 gal tank with a bed longer than 5.5 feet.
