Has anyone replaced their cam with a Thumpr cam? I want to know how the truck ran with cam in it.

We need the trucks year and engine (maf or SD) we also need a link to the the specific cam you are looking at with grind specifications before we'll know how to advise you...

91 F-150 with the 5.0 and speed density. I know the speed density probably wont be able to handle the cam, but this isn't going to be something that is done over night. It will be done when all the parts come together on a limited budget. The cam is Comp Cams CL35-600-4 Comp Cams Thumpr Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cams

5.0's are a little more vauge for my and my knowledge yet but Paul (aka Conanski) could lead you in the right direction. The SD is a big limiting factor at this point. A lot of guys here have done MAF conversion or want to do MAF conversion in order to be able to get more HP and TQ out of their engines.

You really shouldn't buy a cam until you are sure you are converting to MAF... If you do want to convert I would get working on the conversion from a kit or JY parts. Then once you are running good with a MAF system go pick out a cam. There are limited options for SD systems that yeild ok results but not great... Either way I would PM Paul unless he stops by this thread on his own...

I never ran that cam , but it won't work with SD , the comp 35-255-5 will work with SD , but if you go to a MAF system you can run what you wan't.....Lew

That cam is nowhere close to being compatable with a '91 truck motor.. MAF or not.
