Hidden VIN on a 62-63 F-100?
I just became the proud owner of an F100 styleside. I'm pretty sure it is a 62 or 63. It has a 292 with Holley 2bbl, and 3 on the tree. The bed looks to be the 57-60 bed.
There is no VIN plate anywhere that I can find (or license plates). I've looked for the stamped VIN along the top of the passenger side frame rail from the front most body connection to a foot or so under the cab. But I can't find anything. A friend who is a cop said according to their book certain years don't have a hidden VIN.
Any Ideas? I hoping to be able to register it and get it back on the road soon.
Thanks for any help,
Moose

Thanks for the very quick reply. The interior has been repainted and there's nothing in the glove box or on the door.
I may have to remove the wheel well so I can get a better look at the frame well around the shock tower. And, I didn't look very far back under the cab so I'll take another look there too.
I'm basing my assumption that its a 62-63 on the grill, and the fact that it has the older style bed. If it was say, a 64, would the stamped VIN be in the same places?
I'll try to post a pick of her here tomorrow.
Thanks again,
Moose

Yes but a 64 will have the new bed. 62 Grill has long center bar 63 grill is small rectangles.
You may need to wire brush grease and crap from the area.
Will be about 8 inches back from the tower and will be to the inside of the wheel apron.
Under the cab vin will be about 20 inches back from the cab mount.
