I have a 66 f100 it needs a new power steering gearbox but I think the one on it isn't original I think it was added or has been replaced how can I tell what the one on it is so I can order the correct one
Here's what a 66 came with. A bendix box with a 4 bolt cover on top. If you have a 2 bolt, it is a saginaw/ford box. Not original, but will fit with a newer column and modifcations..
Yep mine is a ford two bolt style it is already in the truck so I think im going to get one for a 68 f100 and see if it matches
Wait! 68's used the Bendix style box. Ford started using the Ford style box in mid '69. If you get one for a 68 it will most likely be wrong. I'd go early 70's to be sure.
When I ordered it their was an option for bendix or ford/saginaw in 1968 so I went with ford hope it works if not I got it from my local auto store so I can exchange it for a newer year
