I want to put a solid axle in my truck so i could get rid of the independent front end any ideas how to do it and is hard to do?

I apologize in advanced for this question, but I am new to this stuff... I am about to head out and some beach driving. Before I go, what are the disadvantages to having an independent front end? Are there any advantages to it?

 

im curious about that too..i wanna get a 10.25 sterling rear and a dana 60 front for my truck, but id like to get the dana 60 more..but what are the advantages and disadvantages..?
